2. Inform our supply chain team, calling .........................
This data will be stored within a secure environment. Our sourcing professionals will be able to view the data submitted and determine the next steps.
If your company’s information matches the requirements of our supply chain professionals, they will contact you back providing you with a “candidate code”. This code should be inserted in the 2nd step of the online questionnaire where you would be asked to fill more precise information about your profile.
Supplier approval
Our goal is to develop and maintain a robust supply base of suppliers. Our approval process includes, research, evaluation, agreement, ongoing monitoring and measurement.
Once the candidate has been approved, Steelcase and the candidate agree to the terms and conditions of our Master Purchasing Agreement (MPA). The MPA describes the general terms and conditions governing any purchase of product, material, service, or equipment by Steelcase from a supplier. Once the MPA is signed, the candidate supplier is included in our approved suppliers’ database. At this step, Steelcase does not guarantee any sales call opportunity or business with us.
Supplier selection
Taking the opportunity of a new product launch or a market benchmark, we select our suppliers for our current business from our database of approved suppliers. We award business based on the supplier’s ability to meet specific requirements that include line items such as logistics, service, price, design, environmental impact, etc.
Supplier management
We regularly evaluate our suppliers with our customers in mind, looking at:
- their lean management strategy
- services and quality performance
- and financial health
We do this to ensure that our database is perennial. Our goal is to build medium to long term relationship with our suppliers.
