1989 - Resource Stewardship Award for Environmental Excellence, from the State of Michigan, for being the first company in Michigan to restore a prairie ecosystem surrounding Steelcase Corporate Development Centre.

1983 - National Environmental Industry Award for Excellence in Air Pollution Control, from the President's Council on the Environment.
