Our Plants
Steelcase sites operate under an Environmental Management System (EMS) framework
Steelcase sites around the world mainly operate under an Environmental Management System (EMS) framework, which ensures that environmental issues are systematically identified, controlled, and monitored.
This framework provides us with the most consistent and effective path for managing activities and pursuing continuous environmental improvements in our global operations.
At Steelcase we set up common action plans on:
- CO² emission reduction
- VOC emission reduction
- Packaging reduction
- Waste reduction
- Water conservation
- Energy saving
- Health and Safety
All European Steelcase production sites are certified ISO 14001 or EMAS, as well as five plants outside Europe.
ISO 14001 and Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) are voluntary schemes and management tools for organisations willing to commit themselves to evaluating, reporting and improving their environmental performance. The external and independent nature of the registration and verification process of both the ISO1400 and EMAS schemes, ensures the public credibility and reliability of these accreditations.
